You have to be an Optimist. Nobody wants to follow a Sourpuss

Just found a fashion photo shoot of Shena Moulton entitled, “You have to be an Optimist. Nobody wants to follow a Sourpuss.” These fabulous photos were taken at the renowned Tao Restaurant in Meatpacking by photographer, Nicolas Padron. I just loved all her photos!

The Street Style of Coachella: Weekend One

If you were lucky enough to be one of the thousands who flocked to Coachella this past weekend, you probably witnessed some of the stylish spring/summer styles around. I loved seeing the stylish looks of those chilling at the festival in the sizzling heat, hanging out with people (old or new-LOL), and watching the bands–Outkast (you’re back from the 90’s hip hop…Reunion!), Beyoncé, and Muse even the newbies too. You all rocked at Coachella! Some of the attendees may go there again next weekend.

Don’t you love those little festival style inspirations?! Everyone loves the pale color ombre, tribal-style fringe crop tops, polka-dot shirt and short sets. Click through the pictures to catch up on all my favorite looks! And let’s find out what happens on weekend two! Get ready peeps for the crazy desert sun!

East Village

Sometimes called the “Coolest Neighborhood”, “Bohemian”, or “The Birthplace of Artistic Counterculture”. East Village has its own unique street style culture…a laid-back attitude rich in tradition and diversity. An endless matrix of cafes, bookshops, clubs and galleries and complemented with museums and parks. We took a walk through the neighborhood last Sunday and ate at Cafe Mogador, a Moroccan and Mediterranean cuisine at Saint Mark’s Place. Afterwards, we couldn’t resist the 16+ flavors of macaroons at the Macaron Parlour Patisserie and bought a box to share while sitting in the sun at Tompkins Square Park!

(See the previous post “Trash and Vaudeville” for more details about Saint Mark’s Place)

International Pillow Fight Day 2014

Last Saturday was the International Pillow Fight Day where people around the world participate in massive pillow fights, just for fun! This year, New Yorkers got a chance to let off some steam and feathers flew everywhere in a “good old-fashioned” pillow fight at Washington Square Park in Greenwich Village. The weather was a perfect spring day!

Pump it up! Summer is just around the corner and we have to get that bikini body back. My workout includes a fun, awesome, energetic and intense spinning session at SoulCycle at least twice a week for 45 minutes each. You definitely feel the heat of the fat and calories burning. Two summers ago, my mom discovered this popular spinning studio and introduced me to this new, upbeat, vigorous exercise. We love to train together whenever possible. We love our instructors-Parker, Joshua, Isabel, and Jason…you make us wanna holler (LOL)!

SoulCycle has locations in NYC, California, Boston, Connecticut, New Jersey and opening this summer … drumroll … Washington, DC in Georgetown!

Check out this website: and pick a session and create an account. Remember…summer is almost upon us!
