Thank you peeps for wishing me AWESOME birthday wishes. I spent most of the day waiting in a LONG line at FIT to sign-up as a volunteer for New York Fashion Week, and the wait was worthwhile even in the sizzlin hot weather. I met a lot of new students and reunited with old ones who are getting ready for this big event. After sign-ups finished, a few of my friends and I headed for the “F” subway to Soho for a late birthday lunch at Balthazar followed by GEORGETOWN CUPCAKES! Ooooo banana split?! Deeeeelicious! It was the BEST day ever. Thank you all again!
I’m back and Oh! … how I missed you NYC! Yes, I missed the traffic, honking taxicabs, crowded subways, street performers, delis on every corner, aroma from all the food trucks and even the detours caused by film crews, celebrities and just enjoying the Humans of New York.
I am so pumped to start the Fall semester next week at FIT. Thank you for following my blog and hope you will continue this year. I’ve updated my bio so please check it out and also follow me on Instagram. This is going to be another phenomenal time!
Last week, we lost two remarkable, exceptional legends. Robin Williams–thank you for always making me laugh. I grew up watching all your movies! And Jay Adams, you’re an amazing, old-school skater from the 70’s…loved you in “Lords of Dogtown”. We will never forget you both. You’ve changed our lives in many ways. Rest in Peace.
I found my soul today at the newly opened Georgetown SoulCycle with instructor, Garrett @notwiththatattitude. He was FAANN–TASTIC and made you Holler! Just like my Union Sq, NYC location, the DC site is full of energy, fun, and, of course, SWEAT! I got to spend the 45 minutes working out with my beautiful mom. SoulCycle has officially open in Georgetown M Street. Join me and come on over. You’ve got to try this, find your soul and ride with me in DC or NYC. Book your reservation today at http://www.soul-cycle.com.
(See the previous post, “SoulCycle” for more details!)
Like music in the 90’s, this denim and leather ensemble never gets old! You can find some of the best denim and leather collection at Diesel. My dad took me to this boutique in Georgetown and I found really cool graphic tee-shirts and denim pants. Pair this outfit with tan wedge sneakers and dark lipstick color … It’s not too early to get ready for fall. Check out more cool, edgy clothes at www.diesel.com.
Sweaty from working out in the sizzlin’ summer…you worked too hard to get that hot beach bod and need to energize while maintaining fit and healthy…then you’ve got to try this snack for in-between meals or after a workout. @PrawdaDC, the newest Barre instructor, Jen, shared these healthy and organic snack bars–one is granola and coconut and the other banana and almond butter at http://www.gomacro.com. Wow, the granola/coconut is my fave! Just go ahead and take small bites even though you’ll want to devour the whole bar! Go follow @PrawdaDC on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for more updates or contact them directly for Pilates and Barre sessions! Counting down to that next long holiday weekend, Labor Day. There’s still enough time to tone-up or lose a few pounds. Enjoy the bar and Barre!
